Homemade bubble mixture

Sorry for my ignorance in this matter, but is it really just water and washing up liquid? If so what is the best quantity of each. Also my DH swears Nina and the Neurons recommended adding sugar to make really big ones! Doesn't seem to work though ... Does anyone have the magic recipe??

Glycerin makes it better, you can get it from chemists.

Sugar needs heating up to dissolve so I don't see this working.

Use about half water, half washing up liquid.

Oooh thank you,I've got some glycerine somewhere[off to root about in the cupboard]. My dd's have been given a huge bubble wand thing and we've run out of mixture already.

Thanks again

The only obvious thing with washing up liquid is watch it near the eyes - it will sting!

Imagine it's like a cup of tea: the washing up liquid is like the milk, the water is the water and the glycerin is the teaspoonful of sugar.
