I need to make a dinosaur outfit for Monday for 5 yr old. Have a green pillowcase, polystyrene for the pointy bits which can be painted green, but need more help in what else I can do? Thinking head could be a papier mache balloon cut in half .......but then I am stumpted on the rest. Anyone done this before. Pretty much only have an afternoon to spend on it.

Why oh Why couldn't he have chosen Horrid Henry as his favourite book.......

I've not made one myself, but have seen another child at a fancy dress day at school in a brilliant dinosaur costume. He had a green tracksuit (it might have been pajamas actually), with pointy bits sewn in a straight line down the back from the neckline of the top to the bum of the trousers. To be honest, I don't remember how the tail was done, but I think it was sewn onto the trousers. The pointy bits looked like they were made out of foam, because he could sit/lean on them. He didn't have a mask or a head-dress, he just had green face paint. It was a really simple costume, but looked great- and unlike loads of the other children, he didn't mange to completely destroy it within about an hour of wearing it.

This is pretty unhelpful, given the materials you have to work with- but if you could fit in a trip to Tesco or somewhere for a cheapo tracksuit.... and locate some foam triangles...

Sorry, not helpful at all actually!
