What do I do with lavender?

I have loads of lavender in the garden that needs to be cut back soon so I will end up with a huge bag of lavender seeds. What can I do with them apart from little bags that can go in the laundry drawer?

Just tie stems together with a ribbon and hang upside down in rooms/hallway.

incorporate them into clothes hangers. get another absorbant material and combine and make shoe stuffers.

get a distiller of ebay and have a go. lavendar oil has fantastic antiseptic qualities.

have a google around and you will find loads more things.

Just pour loads of seeds into a bowl and stir every now and again. I love a bowl of them on my chest of drawers.

It's a bit Bunty, but I used to make scented mug pads as gifts - you sandwich the lavender/cloves/spices with some polyester padding between two pieces of pretty fabric and then quilt it lightly. very quick and easy. Use them to put mugs of tea down on - avoids rings and smells lovely!
