this depends, rather on the pin and when it was made - of course some people refer to pins and mean the kind used to 'pin' up hems

some people refer to pins and mean safety pins

i rather think you should be more specific when posting about these things

....and then there are drawing pins.....some pins you try and knock down with a bowling ball - they aren't sharp at all and only a bit pointy
