not happy with quality of stamping/embossing

on tv, they finished products looks so beautiful. but when i do it, they look bitty. and messy, and very very amateur.
i haqve used various embossing powders, as have noticed that some are finer grained, and therefore look less bitty, but still.
any suggestionss please. i am about to ditch my crafty stuff, and go buy some phoenix cards.

it takes practice stitch

first check your stamps- some are worse than others, i used to teach cardcrafting yet there are some I can never get on with!

static and card texture are the other downfalls, you can buy anti static bags but dusting with talc works as well ime. textured card will never work so well and glossy cards attract static; practice with bog standard do-crafts blanks

a small lip gloss type brush helps with removing excess powder, and a big blowsy blusher brusj for bigger areas

some people find clear ink easier as you can see the grains of powder better, and metallic powder as larger grains

keep gping- theres some stunning effects out there (metallic on black a fave, also silver on silver for subtle designs)

and of course triple embossing (my old specialism)...

ooh its ages since i've been on a&c

i had a background type stamp, and that didnt work at all, so gave up on it.
outlines i thought would be best. and only use thedo craft blanks, but, i like th etalc idean. would ordinary baby power work?
so brush the excess embossing powder off, rather than tap it off?
i've never attem0pted triple emobossing. although it looks so easy on tv. i would love to come along to one of your card classes peachy, but i think you live somewhere in the north of england.

haven't taught it since we moved 3 years ago sadly but far from north- se wales to be exact, was somerset!

triple embossing v v easy, if done in metallics it can mimic expensice 'plaque' embellishments
