does anyone know how to decrease knitting patterns ??????????

ok i admit it i'm being very tight with my purse strings due to not having to put in my purse lol

my best friends brother has just a prem baby ok not the brother the brothers' gf i have oodles of lovely baby patterns but as he was six weeks early i would like to knit him something and have no prem patterns so..........................

do any of you clever ladies know how to do it or have any patterns you are willing to either donate i will pay postage or can be bothered to type them out for me ???????

have you looked on some of the free websites?

I don't have any prem patterns (or many tiny baby ones really) but have a look on eg knitty.com

also some of the prem units often supply patterns for people to knit eg hats for them

depending on how chunky the wool is / needles are on the original pattern, you could just knit the pattern with the same stitches etc, but on finer wool and smaller needles. i've done this before on a pattern and it worked out fine. disadvantage is that you don't know what size it will end up other than just smaller!
