What do you think of the name Irina? I have no Russian connection; I simply like the name. I’m just worried that, given the current war, it might not be the best choice and that she could face some negativity later on because of her name. What do you think?

Why do people ask on the Arts and Crafts board about baby names?

I thought it was the name of a new weight loss pill and also wondering why it was in Arts and Crafts.

But OP, no, I'd steer clear for the reasons you mention.

Oh. This is disappointing. I thought this post was going to be about a new craft that I hadn’t heard of before - I got all excited! 😂

Weird place to ask about this and your subject title makes no sense - I thought you'd misspelled Ozempic.

I have a Ukrainian friend called Irina - it's also a VERY popular name in Bulgaria - most people think 'Eastern European' not 'Russian'.

I was thinking it must be some newfangled device for holding bits of fabric together 😂

It’s an Eastern European name , not a Russian one. The odds of you, or anyone else pronouncing it correctly are very slim though, so either use the English version or a different name.
