Where can I find unusual haberdashery supplies?

I’m after some lovely but non- traditional trims and fripperies. Pretty lace in rude patterns perhaps, or colours that aren’t normally seen together. Or iron on sequin appliqués of something unusual - are there such places where I can find these types of treasures? I have found a beautiful, classic tailored dress in a charity shop that needs taking in to fit me and generally updating - I’d love to add a crochet edge around the hem of the skirt in the same colour but in a design that is a bit off-kilter.

There is an incredible haberdashery in Ramsgate Kent with lots of unusual items. It's packed to the rafters. Website doesn't carry their full stock https://haberdashery-fabric.co.uk/

I used to find nice bits on ebay (ebay shops). And Ali express. Granted from China but there are some lovely buttons on ebay but you have to trawl through a lot of listings. Or there are some specialist online retailers its just a case of having the time to search. There aren't any physical shops now selling niche products.

Does anyone remember Samuel Taylor in Leeds. Don't know if it's still there.

Not the shop anyway, but I think they might be in Kirkgate market.

Duttons for buttons in York, and Harrogate. they are also online.

Urban Threads are good for alternative embroidery designs, might give you a start for searching.

Thanks everyone. I will have a look- tbh I enjoy hunting charity shops etc for things that my magpie eyes are drawn to but sometimes I am impatient and want something NOW (well, 3-5 business days with standard shipping😆)

Jess de wahls does beautiful iron-on hand embroidered patches / appliqué in the coolest flowers, botanical motifs and such, a lot with a celebratory feminist twist. She’s very talented.

Birmingham Rag Market used to be the place for that, but not been in years!

That’s B&M in the market with a shop as well. Lovely fabrics but not quirky.
Duttons for Buttons has nice buttons but no other bits.

Duttons for Buttons has many other bits, certainly on line and in the shop in York. A large variety, but maybe not that quirky or unusual.
