Sorry I am duplicating this in Chat as well.

It is for children to do - the kids will be aged between 2-8. I have suggested cards and photo frames but the woman that is organising it wants something else more eyecatching and pref something that appeals to boys.

How about beading, making necklaces, bracelets with chunky beads, sure you can get some khaki (or something like) coloured ones that would appeal to boys as well.

t shirt decorating?....get some white value type shirts in and some fabric pens......let them carry on!

are people paying for each item, or is it a free activity?

you can buy unbleached cotton bags to do same fabric crayons on...they're 40 pence each bag, but i bet you could get them cheaper in bulk.

my ds did mug or plate or coaster (white tile) decorating with ceramic pens at his school fayre....cost us £2 i think.. they used white crockery from ikea, decorated it in school, and gave us a slip of paper with instructions on how to bake item to set it....

ohh ohh.....modrock is fab! messy...very messy! but great fun, and boys love it!!

its like the wet plaster you get on a broken limb...it comes in a roll...you cut it up into little strips, and put it in layers on your hand to build up a cast of the top of your hand....you need to plaster your hand in vaseline first to stop it sticking to the hairs...ouch!

Spatter-painted t-shirts? CHeap t-shirts in various sizes, pots of fabric paint, bristle brushes ie old toothbrushes, scrubbing brushes etc, and some big old sheets for putting on the floor and draping round the work area.

Grassheads

Fill the end section of a stocking/leg of tights with grass seeds and then sawdust/wood shavings (from a petshop). Tie the end and decorate with googly eyes, stick on mouths and noses. Stand them in a decorated pot and water.
