Seam allowance

I'm making the Emma blouse from Atelier Jupe. My problem is that it refers to seam allowance, but I can't find what that is. I usually assume that the standard allowance is 5/8" but should I use that?

It's usually written in the pattern instruction booklet somewhere very early on. Don't assume it's 5/8 as a lot of indie patterns use 3/8 these days

A quick Google suggests that for that pattern it's 5/8 on most of the construction seams but 3/8 on the collar, neckline and pleats - it says the seam allowances are indicated 'on the pattern sheet'.

Its so annoying when it's hidden in a load of bumpf in the front isn't it.

If you are a fairly confident sewist I like Style Arc for their no nonsense pattern instructions.
