Knitting question

I would like to knit this in the round, but I’m not sure how. Also not sure what words to use to search for a pattern which would have this stitch in the round.

I can rib in the round, and I have done some fairly basic cable (many years ago), but I’ve never done cable in the round, nor in a rib pattern.

Any advice?

You will need a cable needle.

Search for ‘in theround’
Cables are the same in the round as flat.

The only thing l’d say is due to the small circumference of those they may be knitted on 4 needles rather than a circular needle. You can buy tutchy circular needles but they always make my hands hurt.

I don’t like titchy circular needles, either. I prefer to knit smallish tubes on 4 or 5 needles

This designer has written patterns for fingerless mitts that are made in the round. If you search for "diagonal cables" on Ravelry and the filter for "in the round" you might find some more patterns.

You can knit small circumferences using ‘magic loop’ using a long circular needle. I’m making a pair of cabled fingerless gloves atm and cabling in the round is just the same as on a flat piece of knitting.

I shall give it a try, thanks.
