Knitting pattern website that creates patterns

Can anyone please help me track this site down?

I'm sure I've seen a pattern website where you can choose elements off a jumper, like neckline and sleeve length, perhaps even wool weight and it will generate a pattern for you.

Does anyone know it please?

Ravelry has a pattern search. Is that what you mean? But you do need to sign up/log in.

No. I'm on ravelry. On this website you could design the jumper you wanted and put in your measurements and it would make a pattern for you. The designs were fairly simple, but that's what I want.

Oh okay. Sorry no idea what that might be. It sounds more like an app of some sort.

MerylSqueak · 02/11/2025 13:38

Thanks for trying 😊

Does it relate to Elizabeth Zimmerman's Percentage System? Where you use your measurements, and your gauge, and calculate your stitch counts from that.

There used to be an app called Bellish that did this. However, it has now closed down.

OSTMusTisNT · 02/11/2025 23:19

Coukd it be StitchFiddle?

DarkNovemberBringsTheFog · 02/11/2025 23:25

There was one, with a Ravelry group, but I can’t remember the designer’s name. Amy something? There was an initial cost, and then £9.99 per design.

It either stopped, or evolved into something different. I’ll think on a bit more.

There is an app called ‘knits that fit’ you can generate customised patterns, it’s fab!

MerylSqueak · 03/11/2025 07:02

Thank you all for those ideas.I'll look them up.

If you're still around @MerylSqueak I've asked Chat GPT for patterns and it's given me them, personalised for size and other preferences.

However I haven't braved any of them yet!

MerylSqueak · 26/11/2025 22:05

Oh my goodness! I'll bet none of the AI developers saw that one coming 😁Thanks for the idea .

It's an app called sweaters that fit

MerylSqueak · 27/11/2025 06:27

Thank you. I'll have a look.

There was one started by Amy Herzog. The name escapes me at the moment, but you should be able to track it down by looking in the Amy Herzog group on Ravelry.

MerylSqueak · 13/12/2025 11:57

Thank you. I only just saw this.

I saw something similar called Knitting Pattern Generator or something like that. It let you choose the neckline, sleeves, and yarn weight and generated a pdf with instructions. I don’t remember the exact link, but I’m searching now and will update.

HalzTangz · 27/12/2025 23:55

Sounds like the 'sweater that fits' app

MerylSqueak · 28/12/2025 01:04

Thank you. I'm having trouble getting the Sweater that Fits app to open, so I'd be grateful if there is something else to try.
