Well, dh is actually responsible. It needs to last a week so we reckon it needs to be fake. Also, the kids will eat real stuff, lol!
So far, we have fake chips from salt dough.
Any suggestions for ice-cream, cakes, anything! It needs to be fairly straightforward.
Thank you. You are wonderful - fact!
Hopeful

plaited bread rolls maybe, might be some ideas here

Will show dh. Every year I try to keep out of this blardy thing and every year i end up fashioning props from unlikely materials. You'd be surprised how fussy theu are, lol!

Fake beans and sausage and egg on a plate, out of salt dough and painted.

Big plate of string for spaghetti with red paint on it?

This might be helpful to you. Only thing I can remember from my brief foray into the theatre was that alcoholic drinks are made of burnt sugar solution and water... And that you can paint thick slices of bread with gravy browning to make them look like steak.

Good advice. I may sod odd shortly to see to ds, but will be back later. Keep 'em coming...

Some of the sponges used for cleaning can be stuck together to look like lurid pink cakes- think battenburg. Papier mache big jelly like in mould, papier mache to make burger type thing. Sausgae rolls by rolling up thick paper and painting, same with swiss rollCan you tell we've just done a show

Ooooh, I used to teach a 3d food project to Y8, we used to do loads of stuff.

Pizza, make base out of card, papier maiche crust. Red paint, pve and seeds for tommy sauce. Clear empty plastic bottles cut into rings for onion rings. Grated wax crayon for cheese.

Sausages (string of): This is great! One pair old tights, Stuff with newspaper at toe for sausage shape. Tie knot in tights, repeat until leg of tights is full. Papier maiche over top to mould into proper shapes. Paint with pva, and paint.

Bonbons (are these allowed with all healthy eating stuff?) Make papier maiche balls. Mix flour and powder paint for coloured icing sugar. Roll balls in this. Great Fun

Sandwiches from sponges, with tissue paper lettuce. Used to love this project!!
