Is it in the Rowan Babies book? I want to do one for DD3. I got a copy of it from a kind MNer before and can't remember who. Gave it to my sister and it's never been seen since. There's a Rowan Babies book on ebay just now...

Also, is there any (cotton based) substitute for Big Wool? It knits on 15mm needles!

My copy of the book seems to have gone walkabouts - I definitely have the book but can't remember what it's called. Can you post a link to the ebay item, I'll be able to tell you from the front cover if it's the right book.

Have checked my copy - that's the right book.

did you want a copy of the pattern? i can give you one. there isn't a cotton substitute unfortunately that i know of(am co-owner of a wool shop!) not sure what to suggest-if you can have a look at something called sirdar denim ultra(i think thats what its called) that might be ok, you would need to do a tension square first tho to check, as i think its a slightly smaller yarn so maybe think about doing next size up?? hth x

Thanks. I bought it. Is it out of print? It's £39 on Amazon

Have a couple of projects on the go, but will try the Sirdar for size when I get round to starting it!

yeah i think it is. my mum collected them all and have now been passed down to me! i now have an impressive collection of old rowan books and debbie bliss from the late 80's early 90's! they go for a fortune on ebay considering how much my ma brought them for!

florenceuk · 12/05/2008 22:40

Hi Ceolas - it was me who sent you the PDF

Ceolas · 12/05/2008 22:47

Thanks Florence!

I knitted it for my niece and my sister wanted to do one for a friend so I let her have the pattern...

It's most satisfying knitting with those big needles!

In case anyone is looking for a substitute, Sirdar Bigga knits on 15mms. I still want to spend £7 a ball on the Rowan though!
