Anyway want a joyful sharing of some art?

Partly inspired by another thread with a hobby artist sharing her lovely paintings, I thought I’d start a thread to share some art without inviting critique but just a place to be proud of ourselves 🥰

I’m never going to sell a painting, I’ve had exactly zero artistic training and I’m also not very imaginative. I think I’m fairly good though at recreating something that exists (I’m utilising AI at the moment to produce original images for me that I can copy).

Ive gone back through my sketch books this evening and wanted to share a few pieces I’m particularly proud of, and invite you to do the same (with any type of art or craft, anything you’re proud of that you created!)

PS - I can’t draw or paint faces 😂

Wow those woodburns are great!

OP i think your strongest piece is the waterfall, the lighting is good!

Here is a digital piece I did using Krita.

Thank you, that was the first piece I ever did that I felt really proud of 🥹

Adore the digital piece, my DP would love to get into digital art and I keep thinking I’ll get him a tablet for it, what do you use?

I've started using watercolours and the odd oil pastel pieces. Mostly copying others at the moment except for my springer, done from a photo

Hi thank you. I use a custom pyrography machine that’s basically a machine that heats a piece of wire red hot. Then it’s just a matter of how fast you move the hot wire how dark/thick the line is.

Sinéad O’Connor in charcoal, a Young Vincent Van Gogh in charcoal, and a pic of my dog I did with my Apple pen.

I use a Huion Kamvas. It plugs into my laptop and shows the screen that you can then directly draw on with the pressure sensitive tablet pen. Mine is a few years old now so better to get a newer one. Mine was about £100 new.

Krita is a digitial drawing program that is free. Its does some of the same things as photos shop but I can't afford it. It is mostly used for digitial painting and has nots of online support and tutorials for learning how to use it. Its farily simple though, comes with lots of default brushes etc.

Im currently using it to draw a fantasy map for the book i am writing.

Oh this is a lovely thread with some fab art. I’m rubbish at prioritising art time but I did do this Gruffalo in watercolour pencil for my daughter for Christmas which I was quite proud of!

That’s fantastic well done! Wouldn’t have guessed it wasn’t the original illustrator 😍
