Hello all, I’m sort of putting myself out there as I haven’t got a huge network of friends, and they’re not really into the types of things I’m into… so I wondered if there’s anyone here that’s like me and might want a friend to chat to and share crafty makes with?😅

I love anything arts and crafts, I crochet and often play banjolele in my spare time! I’m not a tech person, I don’t use social media - I’m not sure mums net fully counts 🤣 Huge chocolate and tea person, oh and I’m a new cat owner to a Ragdoll. Beginning a new career after being an on/off homemaker for 6 years, trying to get a job in primary education (hopefully!).

Hello! I crochet constantly and I'm married to a banjolele player! There always seems to be a huge overlap between the crochet and the banjo/ uke world!

Hello @MyOtherProfile ! Crochet is brilliant, I wish I was as good as my mother in law, she’s a natural!
Ah that’s funny I didn’t know that! My husband is a musician also, but a much better one than I 🤣
What’s your favourite things to crochet? I think mine is granny squares because you just don’t have to think all that much and they turn out fab!😄

I love making blankets and definitely squares rather than stripes. I feel like you get them done faster and then suddenly you have a blanket!

Hi @Scraftycrafty
I also love to crochet, but I've never played (or heard of) a banjolele, I assume it's a cross between a banjo and a ukulele?
Would you like to share any of your crochet makes?

Hello all. I love to crochet too, usually jumpers, cardigans and blankets. I sew using my sewing machine as well, but I am a beginner at that. My family aren't into crafts so I am self taught from books and videos. I tend to have a few different projects on the go at once. What are you all working on at the moment? I also like cross stitch but not done that for a while. I love tea and chocolate. Don't like coffee. I've got back into reading for the first time in a very long time since treating myself to a kindle. I've not played an instrument since my school years though! I work more or less full time and wish I had more time for my hobbies x

@MyOtherProfile (sorry it’s taken me ages to reply!) I agree! I have mixed feelings about colour changing too… it looks great but it’s fiddly and don’t get me started with weaving the ends 😣 but squares are certainly faster, it makes me feel accomplished 🤣

@Namechange48432 it is! I always have wanted to play the banjo, but I’m not a very good musician… 🤣 to be honest, my skills are questionable even on a ukulele… but the banjolele is a nice middle ground!

unfortunately, I don’t have any images to hand, but If I remember, I will share one tonight!

@CraftySewingCrochet i too am self taught in most things! I wish i had an elder family member with wise crafting knowledge… but i think that position is reserved for me when i get there 😅
im really into card making currently! And junk journalling… I’m also currently crocheting a skirt (my fashion sense is questionable!) but that’s taking ages….

what do you like to read?

Usually psychological thrillers or something with a twist. Something easy to read/follow without too much concentration!

I have recently taken up crochet but I’m so bad at it, it’s painful. I’m only learning the stitches for now.

Hi!

I knit and crochet. I have actually been selling my makes on Etsy for the last few years while busy with dc. At this stage, I am looking to get back to a secure employment/ new career soon.
Education sounds good for the school holidays/ hours. I hope it all goes well for you with your new career.
Banjolele sounds fun!
I like reading. I usually prefer non fiction but at the moment I'm reading a Freya North novel (since I discovered she's local-ish to me) and am enjoying it so far.
Hope you are all having a good week.
