This kind of Kantha quilt can't be difficult - can it? but I am stuck at the start:

Where do you get cotton velvet in beautiful shades like the Toast ones? Is organic velvet even available to ordinary buyers?

How do you get the width? None of these have a seam down the middle.

Sorry just realised that one doesn't say Kantha, this one does. But it's the fabric I'm interested in.

You need to look for double width organic cotton velvet. Try googling or eBay.

The two quilts you have shows are sewn in different ways. The second one you could hand quit but it will be difficult. The first one would need a specialist long arm sewing machine. You can often. pay in patchwork quilting shops for them to do the quilting bit for you as they have long arm quilters so that might be an option. How much is the hush one? It may be cheaper to buy it.

It's such a beautiful quilt, isn't it? I love Toast things so much - just wish I could afford them!

I dont see why it shouldn’t have a central seam, it would just look like a quling row. You could have an single pièce lining if you don’t want to see the seam.

Merchant and Mills stock some beautiful fabrics- although be warned, you might end up spending more on the fabric than the original cost of the toast blanket!

Thanks very much for the replies all of you, I knew I was asking in the right place!

I'll follow these suggestions up.
