Joining 2 gold rings together so they don't wear each other out. How?

I have a 22ct gold wedding ring (heirloom) and an 18ct gold eternity ring, side by side. I had the 18ct engagement ring on the far side of the wedding ring welded to the wedding ring so they didn't erode each other (in an independent jewellers in Australia), but this eternity ring is slightly bigger than the wedding ring thus there's not a lot of 'common' ground to weld them together. Do you think a jeweller should be able to overcome this or- gasp!- would Superglue work? CAN one find the sort of craftsman-jeweller necessary to do this at a sensible price in the UK? It cost about 5 quid in Oz 10 years ago! Or is it all mass chains who only flog jewellery? Help!

couldn't you just wear the eternity ring and engagement ring side by side as they are the same carat?

Otherwise ask in a jewellers how much it will cost

I got a quote - at least 30 quid! Sadly, I can't wear them side by side as I'd have to get a small indentation cut into the eternity ring to house the bigger diamond on the engagement ring, like we did when I get the other 2 rings joined (ie a small cut out of the wedding ring).

And will take 2 weeks to get THE QUOTE!
