How would I remove an iron-on repair patch from a pair of trousers?

Just that really ....

I've lost weight so can take them in, removing the threadbare bit... only problem, there's an iron on repair patch that needs taking off first ....

Have you done this? How?

You could try ironing it again and peeling it off whilst it's warm
