Not knitted any baby clothes for years. What's the recommended yarn to use?

I probably used acrylic last time and I know that makes sense for washing. What yarn is both easy to look after but soft at the same time? Thanks

The last time I knitted for a baby I used Sirdar Snuggly DK which is 55% Nylon 45% Acrylic. It’s a really soft yarn and washes well. Most of the patterns I have are for DK yarn and so this works well. I’ve used other types of Sirdar yarn too and they are good.

I use cotton, silk and soft wool (often a mixed yarn) and which can be washed in mashine.

Thank you both. I worry that wool would shrink. I do like Sirdar's site so good to know their Snuggly is soft.

I like Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, so soft, and can be machine washed. But does need to be for recipients' parents who you know will do things like let it dry flat.

I always use acrylic as I feel it washes the best and it's cheapest! Also wool isn't vegan and although I'm not vegan a lot of people I know are and some people are.

Sirdar Snuggly was always my go to.
