I never use ribbing for cuffs and welts just the same cotton lycra as I use for the main pieces

Should say , I have made lots of hoodies !

KatyMac · 21/12/2023 22:59

Yep, Ive been looking and loads of them (in the text) say cut your rib from the same fabric

I really havent but if I can find some suitable stretch I'll give it a go (how many days until Christmas?)

Have you a too small stretch t shirt or similar you could cut up ?

KatyMac · 21/12/2023 23:04

Maybe - I wanted something wild for him but I haven't got anything suitable

It doesn't seem to say its made from stretch material , but fleece or some warm stuff - feels a bit vague , as it will seriously affect what size you may need to make .( unless it has more precise instructions elsewhere ) I have only used paid for patterns ( the hot coffee from Waves and Wild is my go to )

Oh he'd love the monster one from there!!

I reckon I can take a copy from one of DH's hoodies and make it work?

I'll get DD to measure his sleeves length & chest and fudge it - If I can find any fabric tomorrow - I have a deep red but I dont think he would go for that & its too cold to go in the studio to look now!

Good call- the trickiest bit is attaching the hood , but everything else is straightforward . Good luck

KatyMac · 22/12/2023 08:07

Thanks

I worry most about centre front on the neck/hood interface as its the most visible bit

The pattern I use the right side of the hood is attached to the right side of the main body and flipped in - its tidy as you can overlock , bind or top stitch it down inside Dont know if you can see in this one I made my grandson
