Roman Blinds... going to try to make 2 roman blinds for our new bathrooms

How much material do I need..
do I have to know what to do or will I be able to make it up as I go along (knowing what one looks like they seem quite straight forward)

Any tips?

There are some basic instructions here but don't go to the bother of making rod pockets and sewing on eyelets.

You can get tape that you sew on - the rods slip into the tape - and the strings are threaded through loops alreads on the tape - these sell all the gubbings

Got mine made on ebay - it cost £20 more then it would have cost me for all the material and gubbins - thought it was a bargain!

thanks do you think John Lewis will sell that tape for the back.. I was going to go there to get some fabric at the weekend.

They may well do - I know our Dunelm sell the tape and the cords as that's where I got mine from

Ooh there is a dunelm near my Mum.. is it worth the visit?

JingleyJen if you give me the measurements I can tell you how much fabric you will probably need if that helps.
