I'm a novice and this is my first jumper. I've suddenly gone wrong. I have a big loop and an extra stitch. Please can anyone tell me what I've done and how it can be fixed?

Knitting help please?

Looks as though you've knitted into one stitch twice creating and extra stitch. You'd be best to pull that row down and start it again.

Just pull the last row out stitch by stitch, hooking it on to the needle. Then re knit the row.

I was wondering if maybe you'd picked it up and started knitting in the wrong direction. Either way I think undoing it (tinking) is what you'll need to do.

Thanks so much everyone. I'll watch the video and unpick it in the morning.

Just thought you might want to put a lifeline in a few rows down, to make sure none of the stitches can ladder all the way down to the bottom (very unlikely to happen, it's not what they want to do).

VeryPink on lifelines:

No need to then go ahead and just rip the knitting back to the lifeline, you can just leave it in as a backup whilst you tink back one stitch at a time.

Thanks again everyone, all sorted now.
