If I like the Virus Blanket, what other patterns might I like?

Almost finished my virus blanket and looking to start another blanket asap. I have 6 x 100g balls of chunky acrylic yarn and a 6mm hook to play with

Looking for something a bit more interesting than your basic granny square blanket as I've made squillions of those!

This is a favourite pattern:

Once you get it going, there's only 2 rows to the pattern. I've made it in all weights of yarn. I like it best in colour change yarn - the thick/thin 2 row combination gives some neat random effects. It gets hypnotic watching the colours come out & interact, just as the virus pattern does.

It's US terminology & not a blanket, but you can't have everything.

Wow that's beautiful!

I'm happy with US terms and love a good shawl so this is brilliant, thank you 😊

You're very welcome. Is your blanket yarn a colour change one? If so, what is it? Asking for a friend, of course.

It's a Caron cake in Pistachio. Can't remember how many I needed to get a decent size blanket but I think it was 3 or 4

I've just made a virus poncho. Thought it might be a bit odd but I love it and throw it on and off as hot flushes demand.

Also look up Olga Poltava on YouTube. She does lots of unusual and intricate stitches
