Please help me find a knitting pattern

I am back into knitting in a big way now. I have completed a few projects for other people to get me back into the swing of things.

I LOVE this jumper but I don't like the price. Can anyone find me a knitting pattern that is similar to this?

Would love to make this for myself.

Do you use Ravelry? It has a huge pattern database

Dazedandc0nfused · 14/09/2023 11:09

If you use Ravelry, look up the pattern designer Lone Kjeldsen. Lots of patterns available with a Toast style to them.

Excellent! I will go and have a look. Thank you very much @TobiasForgesContactLense and @Dazedandc0nfused .

Hi @RedDiamond ! I'm hoping to knit the same sweater! Wondering if you were able to find a pattern or yarn that you liked for this project that you would recommend? Still hunting!

RedDiamond · 01/10/2023 22:50

@knitter28 I have only had a quick glance. I am desperately trying to finish a cable knit jumper for my dd's boyfriend. After that I will have a serious look. I think it may well be knitted in a cotton/linen yarn and I have to say I am seriously looking into that green colour too!

If you find something before me, do please post and let me know and vice versa.

Check out the Drops yarns as they do a lot of cotton based yarns like that at a reasonable price (wool warehouse stock them). Also if you google Drops patterns they are often available for free and have that simple Scandinavian look of that sweater.

Ailbíona McLochlainn (ailbiona.com) is super Toast-like. Beautiful patterns, really well thought out. I also really enjoy her blog.

I agree it does look good.

I have taken knitting back up this year due to an illness that makes me exhausted most the time. I have knitted my DD and DS (adults) cable knit Arun sweaters, gloves, beanies and scarves. My DD is now putting in other orders...

Also excited to have done knitting in the round for the first time ever.

Wow cable knit sweaters, how satisfying. I am a really faffy knitter, I always have tons of things in my Ravelry queue and make lots of gloves and hats, but have never committed to a sweater. I think this might be the year

RedDiamond · 26/12/2023 11:44

I have to say it was the first time I did cable knitting and I watched loads of videos on Youtube which were really helpful. Not having done cable knitting before, I kept unpicking it thinking I was creating holes by mistake. The penny eventually dropped and it really is quite easy. Definitely have a go.
