Has anyone ever bought one of these? Or used one? Or even had a manual one? Am tempted to buy one for DD(15) - she loves making necklaces.

I'm afraid I don't have one, but I think for me the joy of bracelet making was in the recurring patterns, choosing what order to put the beads on and the quiet enjoyment of sitting and threading beads (maybe with an audiobook or similar). I don't make them now I'm an adult but I also think looking back I'm not sure if making that activity faster would have been a benefit?

What sort of kit does she have for necklace making currently? Do you have photos of some things she makes?

Options might be some semi precious gems/lumpy freshwater pearls and some silver or similar high quality wire? If she's currently making things with glass beads, she might like choosing and making something extra special for herself for prom?

Or would she enjoy some other type of craft? Some friends enjoy very irreverent or modern cross stitching. I have enjoyed learning to make origami stars recently and have made lovely decorations for the house.

Alternatively I would think about other options for jewellery making - i.e. possibly something quite grown up like a day silversmith course or similar?
