Overlocker problem

So today was finally the day to use my overlocker on a project rather than just using it on scrap pieces.

As you can see from the photos the stitches look pretty good on my scrap pieces. However every single time I used it today, the lower looper would become unthreaded after about 5 inches of sewing.

Each time this happened I unthreaded all 4 threads, rethreaded the machine, and started again. 5 inches later and it unthreaded again.

Please help me from going crazy!

Usual checks
Did you thread in the right order?
Is not jammed in tension discs?

Does it "chain" ok with no fabric in?
Is the thread actually breaking?

Yes threaded in right order and chains fine without fabric.

If it was jamming in the tension disc would this keep happening over and over?

Putting the thread through the tension discs is the part of threading that i struggle with.

I'm baffled tbh. Perhaps check for YouTube videos on your overlocker model?

Are you putting the foot down before you sew? Whenever I forget it comes unthreaded.
No other help but lots of sympathy - I love my overlocker when it’s behaving but honestly could chuck it out of the window sometimes. It has a mind of its own.
