How basic is that Blush. We have a fleece dressing gown without a belt and I thought I'd knit a replacement .But I guess it shouldn't be too stretchy and have a bit of "body" .

Anyone help a beginner ?

Stocking stitch but it will roll into a twist unless you slip the first stitch of each row, I think.

Moss stitch will give you a flat, textured, relatively un-stretchy belt. 1/1 rib will give you a thicker, plushier belt. Neither will roll. Stocking stitch will roll even if you add garter stitch borders.

Oh ,I'm glad I asked .Interesting about slipping the first stitch for stocking stitch.

Moss stitch looks great ,I'm going to try that .

Thanks!

I'd use iCord. Look on YouTube.
