It can be upholstery weight or heavy-ish dress weight. I'm going to use it to make small craft items (bowls/baskets etc) so it won't need to be washable.

Any recommendations for suppliers, that you've used and trust, gratefully received.

Thanks.

I can’t help you, BlackAmericanoNoSugar, but you could start by checking out some of the recommendations on this post:

Try remnant house, Immanuel fabrics and Amothreads for deadstock fabrics

Harrington Fabric and Lace have some gorgeous things. I got my silk tulle for my wedding veil from there. They have a great FB page for inspiration and they'll give you advice. Based in Nottingham.

Asian shops! They have fabulous materials of all kinds and are often very competitive.

Any specific ones that you would recommend that are online? There is only one Indian clothing shop in my city and they only sell clothes not fabric. Thanks.

Thanks everyone, I'm going to take a bit of time and a cup of tea this afternoon to browse through all the suggestions.

Well personally I’m a sucker for vintage kimono fabric which is not embroidered but beautiful prints / designs. They do come in narrow widths though. I’ve picked up mine on eBay.
