Craft or outdoorsy courses/days in Merseyside area - looking for gift ideas for artistic SIL

Can anyone point me in the right/an interesting direction? My SIL is artistic, hippy-leaning, passionate about the outdoors and nature. She's enthusiastic about making things and is pretty skilled but loves to try new things.

We're looking for inspiration for a Christmas present that is an experience rather than an object - she often says she needs to get out of the house (she's a carer). I found what I thought looked like a great idea with a willow basket weaving workshop but that is an online course so doesn't give the chance to work with people or get out and about.

Can anyone think of anything in the Merseyside or north Wales area? She lives on the Wirral and has a car.

We’ve done Paint and sip classes before with the paint republic which have been in Chester and Liverpool! Also there’s a pottery course in Liverpool on smithdown road. Hope that helps!

Rathbone Studios in Birkenhead do pottery classes and sometimes other types of art classes

The Williamson Art gallery (also Birkenhead) also do classes but one offs usually rather than courses.

Great idea BTW.

I don't know that there are many I'm afraid @ElizabethinherGermanGarden . Your OP described my sister to a tee. She lives in Merseyside and attends craft days / events like this but she's been to Staffordshire, Yorkshire etc. to do weaving, glass workshops etc. I don't think there are many such events locally. Following with interest in case anyone does mention an option for the Lancashire coast area.

Thank you all - these look like good recommendations. I'd almost given up hope of any replies on this board and now there are four great ideas.

This is the one we've found and booked, just in case any of you are interested. We've gone for the two day basket with handles course as SIL has a bell tent and can stay over. She's always keen to get away for a total break and it looks lovely. www.siopiard.com/en/product/willowbaskets
