I've been wanting to learn to knit for some time and have decided to do something about it. Are there any good books/websites you can recommend? Any tips etc. Even better any mums in nw/n london willing to teach me

I'm in NE london. But there's a great knitting videos site, here.

If you are a lefty, or are ambi, you should consider learning continental/German style, rather than British. It comes out the same, but it's faster, and easier for ambi/lefty type people.

Hi NQC, thanks for that will have a look at the site. Unfortunately I'm not a lefty.

I'm not either, but I still knit German-style, as I'm fairly ambidextrous. The knitting video site shows both styles of knitting, anyway.
