you know the kind of thing; kitschy velveteen fabric stretched over a curvaceous domes frame with fringing and bojangles reminiscent of a Paris Bordello circa Toulouse Lautrec's time.

anyone know how to make them? Can it be done at home?

yes it can - buy and old one and refurb it - you know from vinnies or a cheap second hand - get velveteen from spotlight or vinnies again and put fringing - again spotlight.

what about better homes and garden website - they often have those sorts of things.

I am sure you can buy the frames - perhaps somewhere like spotlight again or bunnings or a light shop - I know I have seen them - can't think where.

Get one from target etc and redo it even.
