Crafty MNers - Talk to me about dressmaker's dummies/mannequins

Dd has asked me to get one of these for her birthday (she is planning to do textiles A level and is currently enjoying using one of them in school for her DT project).

I have absolutely no idea where to start/what to look for etc. I suspect she will be using it for making clothes for herself. Can anyone suggest what I should look for, features that are important, what make to go for, anything to avoid etc etc. Also what sort of budget do I need to spend to get something that is half decent (I was thinking of spending up to about £150). And, any specific suggestions of a model to buy (or where to buy) would be very welcome. Thanks Flowers!

I bought a cheap non-adjustable one for my DD. It was £28 from Amazon.

Adjustoform are the standard ones - these are a reliable supplier.

Check you get the right size range.

Second Adjustoform and yes to checking out the size range. I’ve got the Lady Valet and it’s in your budget. It came with a hem marker which is handy (though available separately too).
