@InTheNightWeWillWish DD1 was here on Monday night (we were airport taxis again) so she's taken the blanket away with her. Its a throw for the sofa in her living room and so it matches the colours in the room. I was glad to see the back of it.

@CrochetBug My new project is a crochet fair isle cardigan which may turn out to be too ambitious for my current crochet skills but we'll see.

Fairislefandango · 25/05/2022 10:34

I have started my Harry Potter Cornish Pixie, which is my first attempt at a toy/stuffed object. I felt so rubbish yesterday that I couldn't even bring myself to knit Shock. Slightly less grim today, and I've cancelled work for the rest of the week because of the covid, so hopefully I'll do lots of sitting on the sofa knitting while I recover.

Ooh @StillNiceCardigan - a Fairisle cardigan? Right up my street. What pattern are you going for?

StillNiceCardigan · 25/05/2022 11:22

@Fairislefandango The pattern is the one on the front of Simply Crochet magazine but I’ve swapped the colours round and am making it so the fit is looser.

Ooh that's lovely!

sophs29 · 25/05/2022 21:12

Sorry you're not well @Fairislefandango hope you're feeling better soon! We've had to do a few tests here as we've all come down with the worst cold ever but thankfully the tests have been negative!

@InTheNightWeWillWish you have so many WIPs! I've done the first granny square of 8 on week 1 of the CAL 😂 it's the first proper granny square I've done, I've always just rushed into projects really but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would! I've decided to use up the yarn from our last CAL a few of us done on the first few threads, so greys, whites and mint greens!

@CrochetBug I'm sorry to hear you've lost your crojo, the last thing I crocheted was the frogs I attached on one of these threads so a while back and before that even longer! I find I'm either utterly obsessed with crochet or just don't even want to think about it! Maybe the pressure of the pattern tests you've done has made your crojo go into hiding!

@StillNiceCardigan that's a lovely pattern! Every time in a shop that sells crochet magazines I have a little browse but never see anything that catches my eye enough for me to purchase one! Maybe I should get one to get some inspiration!

Too much yarn, not enough hooks?

Well… I kept losing my hooks, so I bought like 3 packets so I definitely have the hooks although I still keep losing them, think they go the same place as socks, tupperwares without the lids and Bobby pins. Maybe not enough arms? Grin

InTheNightWeWillWish · 25/05/2022 22:19

you have so many WIPs!

Thats before we get into the abandoned projects like the crochet baby romper (who decides that a crochet baby romper without poppers is a good idea?) in 0-3 that I was doing for DD 😂
My friend is actually undergoing an adult assessment for ADHD and she not so subtlety hinted that my inability to finish WIPs and flit to different crafts is a key trait in ADHD and one of the reasons she was getting assessed!

Fairislefandango · 26/05/2022 07:39

I'm feeling a bit better and might manage some knitting today. The stuffing for my Cornish Pixie has arrived. It says to stuff as you go along, and I've knitted his bum already, so time for a bit of stuffing! think I'll start the new thread off this evening as we're very nearly at the end!

Fairislefandango · 26/05/2022 20:04

Urgh, still feeling a little bit rubbish. Managed to knit some more Cornish Pixie earlier though. And here is the shiny new thread. I hope you like yhe title Grin Feel free to fill this one up though!

SpinMeRightRoundBabyRightRound · 29/05/2022 09:42

Sorry to hear you’ve had covid @Fairislefandango, I hope you’re feeling better now and ready for your new job!

My lovely dad passed away on Thursday. He’d been diagnosed with cancer at the start of the year and we’d hoped chemotherapy and radiotherapy would give him longer but it spread too quickly. It’s a relief he’s not in pain any more but he’ll be missed so much.

Fairislefandango · 29/05/2022 09:46

Oh I'm so very sorry for your loss, @SpinMeRightRoundBabyRightRound Flowers Such a cruel illness.

IstayedForTheFeminism · 29/05/2022 10:05

MerylSqueak · 29/05/2022 12:55

I'm very sorry to hear about your Dad, @SpinMeRightRoundBabyRightRound .

We lost my father in law to cancer this week also. We had only found out shortly before Easter and he's already gone, far faster than we were expecting. Poor DH didn't get there in time to see him. It's brutal.

Take care of yourself.

sophs29 · 29/05/2022 14:33

I'm so sorry to hear of your losses @SpinMeRightRoundBabyRightRound and @MerylSqueak sending hugs 💕

SpinMeRightRoundBabyRightRound · 29/05/2022 14:42

Thanks all, I’m very luck in that we lived close so I was able to see him. I’m so sorry to hear about your FIL @MerylSqueak, it’s so unfair.

InTheNightWeWillWish · 29/05/2022 15:53

@MerylSqueak sorry to hear about your FIL too Flowers

Unmumsnetty hugs all round.

Fairislefandango · 29/05/2022 17:32
