my parents bought this for DD

and I, with a great deal of blood, sweat, and tears have painted it (and constructed the blardy thing which was a complete PITA) over the last couple of weeks in the evenings

Pictures on my profile. I am VERY pleased with it, as is she

am hoping this heralds a year when I'm going to get right back into doing all my arty farty stuff as I love it

Oh wow that lovely. Well done

My mum was given a lovely big dolls house (long rather than tall) which she lovingly painted for my DD's but it was just way to big for our house

It looks fantastic, well done! I love dolls houses.

DD1 spent the morning making her new barbie a classroom out of a cardboard box, with foam matting and shelving and a desk, and pictures of dinosaurs on the walls, it's really good. Barbie looks like an out of place hooooar lounging in this place of learning in her pink stilettos. I think that dd1 is a geek.

oh marvellous
I spent hours as a child making stables, houses, vets, kennels etc. out of cardboard boxes and household leftovers

am slightly worried that DD will get cross because I may insist that all the furniture stays in the correct rooms etc and will constantly worry that she is going to 'decorate' it with stickers/playdoh/pens etc.

(actually I can't wait for her to go back to preschool so I can have a play)

Shitemum · 25/12/2007 23:31

Very nice. I am supposed to have made a dollhouse for DD 4yo for xmas but havent had time. Luckily I live in Spain where most kids get their presents on the 6th of January from the wise men, so there may still be time!

Oh that's beautiful MrsJohn . My dad would love to make a dolls house for my dds, and they would love one, but sadly our house is just too small to accommodate one.

Shitemum · 26/12/2007 12:20

Miaou - you could make one that has only one room on each floor, like a tower. Each room only needs to be about 25cm x 15cm so it hardly occupies any floor space.
