Yes you should pay but I don't advertise on here

Your stuff isn't pants at all! A bit on the heavy side for me but that's just personal taste.

I don't sell online, just to friends/by word of mouth and the odd jewellery sale at a friend's house, mother and baby group, church fair type thing. I would start on a small scale like a school fete (tables don't usually cost much) then you can find out what sells and what doesn't.

Pricing...well I'm not sure! I'll leave Whizz to answer that one.

Good luck!

DANCESwithHughJackman · 04/12/2007 08:15

Oh and if you want to sell on line you will need to make your photos clearer and on a consistent background like black or white IMO.

If you have a setting on your camera that looks like a flower that is a good one to use for close ups - sorry don't know what the flower symbol stands for!

Whizzz · 04/12/2007 16:06

dressedup - no I haven't paid to advertise on here, as I don't actively advertise - I really only post in A&C to see what people think & I am not a registered business. I just sell to fund my hobby of making stuff. I look to cover my costs & postage etc. However I do keep records of things bought & sold - just in case! Pricing - I am rubbish at, I only look to cover costs, not to make a living. Remember if you do want to run it as a business, you have to register with the taxman.
The flower symbol is a close up Macro lens - giving a clearer picture & enables you to zoom in on detail. It's much easier to photo in natural light (harder at this time of year) as the colours are truer. When photographing beads, watch out for reflections & shadows.

If you want more specific info, I've mailed you my MSN addy

dressedupnowheretogotilxmas · 04/12/2007 21:17

i know that i wasnt accusing you whizz or any of you of advertising when you shouldn't sorry if that is how it came across

i was just wondering if anbody has actively paid to sell their jewellery craft bits on mums net ????

i'm very happy wih all the feedback from you all

took all pics with my flash and the flower symbol maybe will borrow my mums flashy one
