If you could only buy one knitting magazine, which one would it be?

We are going to run a survey in our library to find out what magazines people would like to have available - atm it's a ridiculous assortment of over-specialised expensive ones that no-one ever looks at

As well as things like Good Housekeeping etc, I would love us to have a knitting magazine available - but since I don't buy them (too blardy expensive for my budget!) I'm not really au fait with what each one offers.

Any thoughts welcome

interweave knits has some nice stuff, but that's a us magazine...

I would say Interweave Knits, I think. I feel hypocritical because Pruni and I have just been slagging it off, but it still has the most interesting and thoughtful articles IMHO, which is probably what you want to aim for in a library. If it has to be a UK magazine then I think Knitting is probably the best of a fairly bad bunch- it's slightly less trivial and matey than the others.

Interweave Knits is the only one that I buy every time. It patterns that will stretch all levels and in-depth articles about knitting techniques.

IMO, the British ones come out too often and are often stuffed with nonsense because of that.

Thanks for that - that's what I thought so nice to have it confirmed

Will certainly make my suggestions when I get the opportunity
