Any ideas how I can repair these jeans?

I'd rather not have a visible patch on my bum!

The pictures are of the corner of a back pocket. In one picture the jeans are laid flat, in the other I've stretched them slightly to show how the damage opens up. I've tried an iron-on patch on the inside, but it just came off. Perhaps because the jeans are stretchy? They're 71% cotton, 27% viscose, 2% elastane.

If you can find thread the same colour I'd do a bit of old school darning.

Darn/weave or you can get good results with going back & forth with a machine stitch (iron on patch on inside to sew it on to)

I don't know how to make a stretchy darn.

I mean, I can darn - just not a stretchy darn. The jeans are stretchy, not proper denim.

I would make that part of the jeans non stretch by sewing some woven to the wrong side so the darning doesn’t have to stretch.
(The iron on probably didn’t work because of the stretch of the fabric)
Actually I think I’d probably patch tbh that kind of stretch fabric is a pain - stabilising one part will mean more pressure on other parts & as wear is likely to be similar you could do all the work just to have a new rip to deal with.

I don't think that will be strong enough, but it could be worth a go.

Perhaps I could then 'darn' through it using a V stitch. It would only have a one-way stretch, rather than two-way, but it might be better than nothing.
