Best way to get rid of yarn

I've accumulated quite a big yarn stash and I'd like to get rid of a lot of it. Since charity shops aren't taking donations at the moment i thought I'd look online, but it all seems to be for donating finished knitted items. Is there anywhere that will just take yarn? Or will i have to start making stuff to donate?

What sort of yarn is it?

Of any of it is the yarn used by Woolly Huge, they might be able to use it.

If you put it on Freecycle someone is bound to take it.

Knit for Peace is a website which may interest you.

Offer it on freecycle or freegle. There are often requests for yarn by people who knit things for charities.

Woolly Hugs uses a lot of Stylecraft Special dk - so if there is any of that in your stash, it would be a very welcome donation.

You could also look on FB - there are various knitting and crochet groups on there, who might welcome a donation of yarn.

Or you could try on Ravelry (a free knitting/crochet website) - offer it there.
