Sewing patterns with tutorials?

Hi all.
I started sewing in the last lockdown, then I was able to attend a course for a while made a skirt, a couple of tops, etc. but this didn't finish and when I had to self isolate I got lots of fabric and patterns and got to it!
To my frustration I was only able to finish one dress and only because it had a video tutorial online to follow. In all the others I got stuck not understanding the patterns.
So, do you know of any pattern designer that also has online tutorials?
I only have found this for children's clothes, but I want to make adults clothes.

As a beginner sewer, I like Tilly and the Buttons. The beginner patterns explain in detail how to do things and she has lots of how-to recordings on her website. Having done a dress, pj bottoms and a blouse, I’m now branching out to other people’s patterns.

Is there any particular technique you are getting stuck on?

The teacher suggested this but I wasn't keen on the patterns, I guess I was too ambitious in trying to make more complicated styles without the knowledge.

Yes I usually get stuck with facing, under-stitching, etc. on collars and waists mainly.
On my current skirt I think the problem is that I chose a bit of s stretchy fabric and the waist looks completely wrong

Yes, I do think you need to get the basics under your belt before trying more complicated things. I started with the indigo smock, and although the style of the dress isn’t quite to my style, it let me grasp some of the basics and tackle a few trickier things such as facings. I’ve more recently done the mimi blouse from one of her books, and having done more basic things with the indigo smock meant I could tackle the harder things in this pattern (more complicated facings, a collar, buttonholes for the first time (which turned out to be easy)).

I haven’t yet tried stretch fabrics (I’m starting some children’s dresses today - a simplicity pattern) because I know it will need different techniques. Tilly has a book on stretch fabrics too, which I’m considering. I have seen a bit of snobbery online about Tilly’s stuff, and I know I sound like a fan girl here, but I’ve just found it more accessible that traditional patterns and it’s helping me learn techniques that other patterns assume you know.

My slightly stretchy fabric mistake was because I ordered it online and really didn't know what it would feel like!
I forgot to say that I make dolls clothes (for Blythe) with linings, collars etc. Without a problem because I learnt from a course online with videos, so this gave me the confidence to try other things. I will have to look into Tilly And The Buttons and get back to basics.
But why the snobbery around it?

Just seen this - I started sewing in Lockdown too! About a month ago in fact. I didn't start off simple, I went straight to a dress . Youtube tutorials especially the Made To Sew channel have been my friend and must give a special mention to the very experienced ladies on this stitch and bitch thread. You would be very welcome to join us

I have found these "sew a longs" to be really helpful as well.
