Lurker here, thoroughly enjoying seeing how your projects grow.
I have a blanket WIP but got sidetracked into knitting socks a few months ago. I am just finishing the eighth pair 🥴 then I have to finish a pair I started for me goodness knows how long ago!
Then I will get back to the blanket hopefully!

This week I’ve just been grabbing moments when I can crochet so I’ve not been finishing things off. I’ve been attempting some amigurumi for Easter so I’ve just been doing a wing here, a head there. The downside is that my couch this morning looked like an amigurumi horror movie - wings, beaks, heads, horns everywhere 😬 I’ve managed to finish two things tonight so we’re probably back down to crime show!

Little chick will be going to the care home we visited before lockdown. He’s a bit wobbly but hopefully someone takes pity on him. The triceratops is for DH. It’s his birthday tomorrow and he’s already got his present so I wanted to make him a surprise, so figured his favourite dinosaur would be good a surprise. Finished before work this morning and I was too excited so ended up giving it him this morning. So back to no surprises but at least DH liked his little triceratops.

@CrochetBug Thank you!

@InTheNightWeWillWish That triceratops is super cute - I can see why you didn’t want to wait to show it off.

spamm · 19/03/2021 02:38

@InTheNightWeWillWish - the triceratops is so very cute. How clever!

I got started on my Interlaced Cable Cushion cover and got through 19 rows. I had to frog about four rows because I did a piece f instead of b but it looks nice. I went for a light color for my blue chair.

@crochetbug 👋 I'm learning tunisian at the moment in between mosaicing
I use a double ended hook, projects can be as long or as short as you want that way.

I'm only schooled in simple stitch so far but have dabbled with others.

My first project enclosed

@CrochetBug when I was first learning crochet I remember seeing a quick headband that was done in Tunisian crochet and that looked really simple..but it was just a headband Grin I've got a Tunisian hook but haven't used it yet!

tizwozliz · 19/03/2021 10:32

The downside is that my couch this morning looked like an amigurumi horror movie - wings, beaks, heads, horns everywhere

I can really relate to this!

I've not so much as picked up a hook this week

lazylinguist · 19/03/2021 11:34

Welcome @YanTanTethera123 - I love your username! I too had an 'all about the socks' phase. Grin

@Myshitisreal - your Tunisian crochet looks beautiful! I keep seeing videos of Tunisian crochet on Instagram, plus adverts for beautiful Tunisian crochet hooks, and being intrigued!

I've only managed 5 rows of the KAL so far. In theory I'm faster at knitting than crochet, but I'm really busy atm and am too tired to knit for long in the evening! I'd like to think I deserve plenty of crafting time at the weekend, but in reality I'll probably be catching up with all the housework I've let slide this week!

Right. Tunisian hook is on my list for my next WW order. Grin
I made a very small piece of (what I think was) Tunisian on a normal hook. No way I could do a cardigan that way though Grin

Myshitisreal · 19/03/2021 15:56

Make sure to order big hook sizes, like 2 sizes bigger than required normally. I can check what mine are if it helps. You very quickly get the hang of it 😁 but I'm not at Cardigan stage yet

InTheNightWeWillWish · 19/03/2021 18:31

@spamm @QuiltedBear thanks, it’s really quick to work up too as it’s only little. Bonus it also involves no sewing so that’s always a winner in my book!

lucysmam · 19/03/2021 18:59

I think I want a triceratops 😍

I'm up to row 20 of the back of the cardigan. Going to try and get a few more rows in tonight. The cables look better the more I've done so I'm quite happy with it.

CrochetBug · 19/03/2021 19:05

@lucysmam I found thatwith the cable I was doing. It looks better the more you do.

@Myshitisreal the pattern said a 4mm circular 80cm Tunisian hook would you recommend buying more sizes just in case?

Myshitisreal · 19/03/2021 19:27

Oh goodness I can't imagine a 4mm tunisian hook. Due to the nature of it you're always pulling stitches up and down the hook and a 4 is so small. Here's a pic of my two. I used the larger one for mums scarf. I would size up, i think it's recommended to go two sizes above the recipe. It's really hard to get the tension right and not have the stitches too tight

Mine are double ended rather than cables. Like these www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400700826861

I’ve finished my mum’s cushion for her birthday. She’s making herself a blanket in matching wools which is going to similar to a patchwork blanket. Had some help from DH for sewing on the buttons.

Is that the cushion that started life as a blanket? It's turned out really well

sophs29 · 19/03/2021 21:28

Lovely cushion @InTheNightWeWillWish

Buntyforgirls · 19/03/2021 21:59

I love the cushion @InTheNightWeWillWish

CrochetBug · 19/03/2021 22:18

That cushion is lovely @InTheNightWeWillWish.

My mum suggested a stash buster for us all Grin

InTheNightWeWillWish · 19/03/2021 22:34

Thanks guys.

tizwozliz that’s the one! It’s also the one that I didn’t have a cushion insert for until today so I’ve mostly been guessing the size and cobbling together a couple of patterns. For such a haphazard approach to this cushion I’ really pleased with how it turned out!

NiceCardigan · 19/03/2021 23:14

@CrochetBug those trousers are spectacular!

petridishmystery · 19/03/2021 23:57

Finished my blanket cardigan! Think it went a lot better than my past attempts, not sure if I have the nerve to wear it out. I know realistically no one will give me a second look but my anxiety is like no they’re all going to know you made it and point and laugh

@petridishmystery - that is so beautiful. I totally love the color, so gorgeous. You have to wear it, it would be a waste not too!

I would never look at that and think it was not nice - it looks so evenly knitted.

QuiltedBear · 20/03/2021 07:15

@petridishmystery That is stunning. What size loom did you need to make it? And you could totally wear it out - it has a very professional looking finish.

@InTheNightWeWillWish I love the cushion too.

lazylinguist · 20/03/2021 07:39

@petridishmystery - nobody could possibly point and laugh at that, it's beautiful, and such a great colour! It would look very elegant on, definitely something you would be pleased to buy from a nice shop. I'd wear it!
