I would like to make christmas cards with my DC. We made them last year with white paint and glitter on black card. It was very simple but still quite hard due to their young ages. This year I am looking for any simple and effective ideas anyone else has tried out with their DC.

TIA

Get some brown paint and have your LO make a thumb print on the card, or a few if you like. When they are dry use a red pen to draw on a nose, black pen for eyes and a smiley mouth and some brown antlers. Rudolphs.

What's a holly punch Dior? And do you mean real holly leaves? Have you tried it before?

I have drwan very simple triangular trees on cards. Ds has then "painted" them and I have finshed them off with a star or a ribbon on the top. They are very varied and actually look quite good
Lovely to do too!

MorocconOil · 04/11/2007 20:45

Oh I get it now. It sounds nice and pretty easy too. Hobbycraft for the punches?

I have a pic on my blog somewhere of a rather abstract Xmas tree, just cut from varying sizes of triangles and layered with 3D pads onto a little brown truck. Would be very easy to adapt. Give me a shout if you want me to find it!

ooh i'm making christmas cards as we speak. well getting the paper ready for dd to add to. i'm working on two very high tech designs. her masterpieces turned into snowflakes (sacrilige!) by me, and stuck on blue card for a wintry feel, and ones where i'll draw a festive outline and let her go wild with the glitter. i'm thinking christmas trees and maybe santas or snowmen...so original i know!

MorocconOil · 04/11/2007 21:01

Yes please Dingle if it's not too much trouble.

Yummers, do mean you get her to draw/paint something then cut it into a snowflake?

mimizan, my blog is here but you will have to go to an entry on 6th Sept to see the little tree I mean.
I have stitched and embossed and allsorts but the basic idea could be easily adapted and hand cut.

MorocconOil · 04/11/2007 21:20

Thanks Dingle. They are lovely. I think we could use your basic idea by cutting out 3 green triangles and sticking them on some black card, then sprinkling on some glitter. I do love glitter at christmas.

Hope my little wonky tree was of some use to you! Show us all the results whatever you do- won't you!!

EachPeachPearMum · 10/11/2007 23:31

Okay Dingle- those are possibly the most awesome cards I've ever seen!!!!!
the pink christmas one with 3 snowflakes? WOW
You are an incredibly talented lady!

what is CBC please (as in the challenges)?

And how did you make the 3 flower shapes on the most recent one? (40th birthday)

Dingle · 11/11/2007 16:25

Thank you!!!

CBC is an abbreviation of a crafting forum I use, it's one of my links on my blog!

The flowers are a mixture of die cuts. The actual flower is a quickutz die, the centre a cuttlebug snowflake -held together with a brad and embossed with Glossy Accents.

EachPeachPearMum · 12/11/2007 23:45

Well, you are incredibly talented. If I put those together, they'd still looks like some random pieces of card glued together LOL

You have crafters have inspired me though- am going to get making some tree decs next weekend!

Last year I made some with DD1: we bought plain cards, I cut out green Christmas tree shapes for her to stick on them, then she decorated the trees with little sequins and doves and star confetti. They looked great, and DD1 had a ball making them

PillockOfTheCommunity · 13/11/2007 00:26

ds1 made a card at Nursery, foot print for reindeer face, hand prints for antlers
