@lucysmam I’ve just checked my emails and Deramores are temporarily doing free delivery if you spend £15! It just says ‘limited time only’ do not sure when it will go back up to £25.

lucysmam · 20/02/2021 09:46

Thanks for the suggestions - I've just checked Deramores, the ricorumi is in stock but not the aran for the cardi. The aran's in stock but not ricorumi on Lovecrafts & I didn't go further than checking for the ricorumi on Hobbycraft because the colour's oos.

I'd look on Hobbii but their shipping prices seem stupid!

Tizwoz it's either lilac, or orchid but I can't remember & can't find my order email to find out.

We do have a local shop but I'm not sure about their set-up at the mo. I'll check fb, that might tell me more than google that just says they're closed.

lucysmam · 20/02/2021 10:01

Ooh, my local shop is open for collections *at certain times!

But I don't really need to make the trip into town for anything. I'll go as far as I can go for now, and impatiently wait for an email to tell me when one or the other yarn is in stock again.

SoupDragon · 20/02/2021 10:43

It's £5.95 for under £59, free above that (I've never paid shipping 😂)

It comes from Copenhagen.

lucysmam · 20/02/2021 10:58

Oooh, that explains that then! I don't think I need £59 worth of anything right now...🤔

lazylinguist · 20/02/2021 11:10

Yarn vouchers, @InTheNightWeWillWish? Shock Money that must be spent on yarn? Sounds like the best thing ever. Grin

Define "need". 🤔

I bought several gradient yarn cakes which I am slowly working my way through. One other time I bought lots of white to dye.

Now I would want to be sure I wasn't going to be stung for any customs charges though. I don't think there would be any.

SoupDragon · 20/02/2021 11:18

Damn - according to their website customs charges can apply. Guess I won't be shopping there again.

lazylinguist · 20/02/2021 11:19

Another thing I liked on Instagram - labyrinth socks

I, am a genius! Ok, not really, but I've just worked out that the band off the ricorumi has a code on that tells you the colour! It's orchid.

I'm going to brave Ebay and see how much it is on there. Although, I imagine postage will put me off 🤷‍♀️

InTheNightWeWillWish · 20/02/2021 16:42

@lazylinguist not as a such... I spent other vouchers that could be applied to other things on yarn Blush I got a lifestyle voucher from work for Christmas and you pick the brand. So I picked hobby craft and ordered some yarn from there. Then my dad got me a John Lewis voucher and so I also ordered some from there. My hobby craft order cost £1 and John Lewis cost £2. So can’t go wrong with a big pile of yarn for £3! Grin

Part 4 is done!

The bear has a head and half a body, & I'm out of yarn. I'd make his tummy and ear patches but cba to go upstairs for the white so am going to do a bit more of dd's blanket for tonight & bring a ball of white down when I get up tomorrow.

Hopefully somewhere will have both yarns I want, in stock together, soon!

givemebooks · 20/02/2021 22:12

Evening all not had much time to crochet as doing some decorating but i am really enjoying part 5 simple and easy and seems to be flying together!!

I love love love the mermaid blanket any one have a good pattern for a beginner for one of these? Would love to make one each for my best friends girls!

Also anyone have any books or patterns to recommend for a beginner? The CAL has been perfect as not only did it have a pattern but had the pictures too which have been a great help! Any other books/patterns have a similar format??

tizwozliz · 21/02/2021 09:00

I unpicked a couple of rows to fix my mistake, as the alternative would have meant another couple of rows to see if it was noticeable or not, then I could have been facing 4 rows to frog so bit the bullet. One good reason not to weave ends in as you go!

I really like the woodland ripple but as every other row is just UK dc in every stitch you don't always find the mistakes until another row later

OohKittens · 21/02/2021 10:08

Hi can I join please? I've enjoyed seeing all the beautiful work. I have had a break from crochet but this week I've made a blanket and a wrap. Also loving the quick twisted headbands.

I didn't do any crochet yesterday- must do plenty today! Just been for a lovely walk around a nearby lake in what appears to be spring sunshine Shock.

Hi oohkittens, welcome!

It's lovely here today too, it feels like spring has suddenly arrived after a very stormy couple of days. We've been tidying the garden this morning so my plans are to sit in the sun and enjoy it with a WIP this afternoon. Bliss Smile

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 21/02/2021 13:56

Can I join too!? I used to knit but have moved to crochet recently. Up till now have made pretty basic things (scarf for dd, lots of dishcloths, baby cardigan) but am
now attempting a dress for 3 yr old Dd!

lazylinguist · 21/02/2021 14:27

Hello LittleHouse - wow, a dress sounds like a good challenge!

OP posts:
Littlehouseinthebigcity · 21/02/2021 14:49

It's this dress. Though I am doing it in slightly more muted colours!

Kate105 · 21/02/2021 17:13

Oh that looks lovely @littlehouse do they have a knit version of that pattern by any chance?!

CrochetBug · 21/02/2021 17:22

Oh that dress is gorgeous!

eitak22 · 21/02/2021 19:20

That dress is stunning! Bet it will look super cute.

I've had a frustrating crochet day as my yarn had lots of short threads (no more than 30cm) in it so had to keep joining new ends which is super frustrating. I've had the odd knot but this is ridiculous.

Leaningtoweroflisa · 21/02/2021 19:27

givemebooks the pattern is from ravelery, hope this link works

www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/angie-hartleys-ravelry-store

It has a knit in the round and an open back version, it is a clearly written pattern and straight forward but the pattern is from loops of yarn rather than a fancy stitch. It would be nice knit in something like a Caron yarn cake that works into rainbow stripes!
