Any one using a knitting machine?

I'm wondering about getting a knitting machine to make it more commercially viable - does anyone use one who could give me some advice?

Miaou - I noticed you started a similar thread last year, did you get a machine in the end?

I'm mainly wondering how flexible they are - can I increase/decrease with them? Can they be used to shape pieces? Or are they simply just a device for knitting a large flat piece like the back of a jumper quickly?

I did supermonkey - but I didn't get on with it at all. I consider myself a fairly intelligent person but I couldn't follow the instructions and never managed to produce more than one small sample!! . So I sold it in the end. A real shame as I was so excited about it!
