What is the easiest way to cut out a name in a piece of card. Needs to be quite big.

stanley blade??

I have one so that's good. It was more a way of doing it as I tend to be a bit accident prone. Maybe the best way would be to make a stencil on some old card and then draw that on to the card to use????

a small craft knife (scalpel type) would be best. Put the card onto a thicker bit or old mat etc so you don't damage whats underneath the stencil & do it really slowly a tiny bit at a time. Keep your fingers well out of the way !!

Got a board from the days when I used to make cards. Pre-kids obviously! Maybe my real problem is I can't draw in a straight line!!!!!

piece of glass underneath. Very sharp knife and move the card not the knife

If its straight lines you are cutting get a metal ruler or even better one of the ones with a little handle for holding in the middle, then it keeps fingers out of the way

we have a crocodile ruler from ELC so will use that. waiting until kids are in bed. no chance of doing it with them around.
