Do those cardboard wendy houses last for more than a week??

I've been looking at the cardboard wendy houses/rockets etc on ecotopia.co.uk and think they look like good fun for a summer project; painting them together and playing in etc. The site says they're robust, but just wondering how long they will actually survive a boisterous toddler? Has anyone tried them out and know if they're any good?

there was a thread about these on bmc, someone bought a rocket for their son, i think it lasted quite well, you can take them apart and then put them back together again, they do look like they are amde of quite strong cardboard? also we made one ourselves a few years back and it did last for months

surely it depends on teh amount of rain as well i imagine

Those things cost a bomb!

Get hold of a big box. Go to Curry's and ask for one from say, a chest freezer, and make your own.

DS was given a rocket for his first birthday - it was great (although after a bit I did get a bit sick of a giant cardboard rocket in the lounge room!) - but I'm not sure how long it would survive now that he's getting on for three - main problem being a tendency to tip over. The cardboard etc was pretty strong. Only thing I'd say is that the edges around the door etc are actually quite sharp - we put layers of masking tape around ours to prevent cardboard cuts.

We had one and it cost about £17. It was great. Would have lasted longer if hubby hadn'tgot fed up of it lying around. Don't leave it out to get wet though.

hmm, dd was bought a wooden dolls house for her brithday. lasted about six months. the kids used to sit in it and pretend it was a scooter/car/ariplane etc
and this was made of wood! quite robust.
