Patchwork?

I have fabulous fabric and think I could do a quilt.
Should I do blocks all the same design with different fabrics or lots of different blocks? Or will that look messy? Or just squares - or will that be boring?

Have a look at some of the fantastic designs and patterns, I've joined some Facebook sites and am in awe of the lovely work - I would do blocks of the same design but different fabrics.
I would really like to make some quilts (or cushion covers if I'm not feeling so brave) and I'm getting inspiration.
