I like this one www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mostly-harmless as it's pretty mindless crochet really. It's an elongated triangle.

This one is pretty good for lazy people. You can change the width by adding or subtracting a block. You could even make it length-wise so that your colours change across the width of the scarf. www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/windowpane-scarf-3
