It’s a jumper for a baby. I’m up to the shoulder on the back piece. I’ve knitted the 53 stitches, turned and knitted one row. It’s says knit 5 rows. Does that mean knit 5 rows of just those 53 stitches? Or do I knit all the stitches for the next 4 rows?

Id knit the 53 youve got at the moment

Yes just knit those 53 stitches. Basically you're splitting the piece so you can knit up to the shoulder on one side (and probably then cast if off), then you'll go back and knit the other side of the shoulder in the same way. Allowing you to shape the neck.

Good luck with a great final result!

Thank you both!
