Enlarging armholes on sleeveless silk dress

Is this possible? I've seen a couple of tutorials online but they involve adding a bias binding which I don't think would be possible (or desirable) with silk.
I certainly wouldn't be capable but wonder if it's worth pursuing with an local alteration sewer.

Absolutely worth pursuing - and bias binding can be made from silk so it doesn't have to be rough.

Yep, quite an easy job. You could use a silk bias binding or you could cut a silk facing & use that instead. Take it to someone & see what they suggest.

How are the armholes finished at the moment? Best thing would be just to replicate that. A seamstress should be able to do it.

Thanks all, will investigate options
